(Continues from the last time)
That's interesting, that's really powerful. No wonder you are where you are today. That powerful quote, 'God gives more grace to the humble.' For those reading, I have known Mr Akachi for sometimes now and one thing I can also say is that he is a Godly and Spiritual person; someone who knows God and someone who talks about God. I want to ask,
with too much demand on your time, do you really have a leisure time and how do you relax?
(Chuckles) I relax very well, very well. After now, tonight, am going to the gym, in the morning, am going to the gym. Like, today is Sunday, my friends are coming over and I have plenty of leisure time. That's why I said I think am not busy yet. That's why I have time to travel. People who do not have leisure time can't have time to travel.
Travelling could still be part of work..?
(chuckles) No, my own travel is leisure first and business second. This is because I have to maintain a balance, if not, one will break down.
In this sense, it's important for people to relax even when we are working hard..?
Very well.
That's very good because when you relax, you renew the physical body and may be the spirit also and then be able to work better.
Yes, but relaxation has a ratio also. So, don't relax more than you work. God worked for six days and relaxed for one day. So, if you are relaxing for six days and working for one day, there is an error.
It's true. That's really powerful.
Yes. so the ratio is six to one(6:1). You take six hours to work, you rest for one hour. You don't have to do it on a weekly level. It applies in the hourly level also; you work for six hours and rest for one hour. So, in a day, you have rested and you have a leisure time of like three or four hours every day.
When do you sleep and when do you wake up?
I have an irregular sleep pattern. So, I sleep in the day, I sleep in the night. Some people don't have access to that. If you work for someone, you can't be sleeping in the day time, you can't be sleeping in the office. However, because I work for myself, a lot of times, I work into the night. I sleep a little in the night and then I compensate in the day time. So, I don't really have a regular sleep pattern. I sleep when all is said and done.
Could you please use this medium to talk to Africans, especially the youths on anything that could be of interest and benefit to them.
Ok, to the youths in our generation, I want to say two major things. The first one is with God, nothing is impossible. Whatever you want to become, whatever you want to achieve, just know that with God nothing is impossible. You can become whatever you want to become. You can become the next president of your country, you can become the richest man in the world. You can become the next inventor, you can become the next social media guru in the world. Whatever you want to do, with God, it is possible. The problem is that a lot of people want to become this and they want to become that and they take out the God factor. That's what the Western world is doing. They take out God from the society. They stop the morning devotions in schools, they stop students from coming to school with bibles and all that. When you take God out of the society, society crashes and people are not able to fulfil the potentials they have on the inside. With God, all things are possible. So, for the youth out there, no matter what you want to do, no matter who you want to become, if you put God first, whatever else you want to achieve, if am able to do what am doing at this level considering where I came from. I came from a very remote area where nobody was expecting anything from us. They said, can anything come from Nazareth? So, am coming from Nazareth and it took God to get here. So, whatever we want to achieve, with God you can achieve it. That's number one.
Number two is vision. Young people will need to catch a vision. Don't just live life for living sake; wake up in the morning and you wonder, oh, what's gonna happen today?' No, plan your life, have a vision- this is what I want to do, this what I want to do for Africa, this is what I want to do for my generation, this is what I want to do before am twenty-five, this is what I want to do before am thirty. At age fifteen, I wrote down when I wanted to get admission, when I wanted to graduate, when I wanted to be a millionaire, when I wanted to retire, when I wanted to marry. It helped me when I got to school. Those things were my guiding principles for me. So, I wasn't playing around at school because I knew when I wanted to come out of school. I knew when I wanted to become a millionaire and the time was one year after graduation. After one year, I didn't go for youth service first. I had a plan and the plan was, become a millionaire first before anything. So, it guided me and for you, it does not matter what plan you have, but there must be a plan. You cannot hit a target that you are not seeing. If you are not seeing nothing, you cannot get there. You will just be living life by default. Life is meant to be lived by design not by default. You design it through what God is showing you and you live it out. Am saying, go get a vision, go get a vision. It's God that gives vision, any way. It's God that gives true vision and when I am talking of vision, am not just talking of personal vision. There are seven kinds of vision. Am not just talking about personal vision, am talking about corporate vision. People like Nkrumah… he had a vision for Ghana and not just Ghana, he had a vision for Africa. Our fathers that got independence for us, they didn't just have personal vision. Some of them had personal visions, any way. They built good houses, but nobody is hearing about their houses today. They rode cars then, nobody knows about that today. It was what they did for the nation, what they did for a generation is what counts. So, when life is over, nobody is going to ask you how many cars you had, the kind of house you lived in. that's in your pocket. What people want to know is, what value did you bring to a generation, what value you bring to a society? So, you see, the people we remember today are the Nnamdi Azikiwes, the Awolowos, the people who helped to get emancipation for a whole nation. So, don't just think about yourself. Think about a whole nation, think about a whole generation, think for Africa, think for America, think for Asia. You have the capacity to become it, but without vision, life is wasted, people cast off restraint and they behave anyhow. That's how young people get pregnant, that's how young people get into alcoholism because there is no vision and if you stand for nothing, you are going to fall for anything.
That's powerful.
Thank you.
Could you give us your last words on this interview as we wrap up.
Wow! My last word is, for everyone that will be reading this interview, I want you to know that belief in yourself matters. I didn't know how much I could achieve until I started doing. I don't know you, but there is something about you. You are carrying greatness inside. You are extremely powerful. If you believe in yourself and believe in your dreams, they are going to become a reality and the world is going to hear about you.
Thanks very much for having us.
Thank you.
